Brittany Hewett

Early Childhood Specialist

I am an early childhood specialist with Bringing Out the Best, a program under the umbrella of the UNC Greensboro Center for Youth, Family, and Community Partnerships. My professional training is in the area of teacher education and teacher-child relationships. I received my Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies with a focus on Early Care and Education from UNC Greensboro and my Master’s degree in Child Development and Family Relations as well as a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-6) from East Carolina University. Additionally, I am recognized by the National Council on Family Relations as a Certified Family Life Educator. Before beginning in my role as an Early Childhood Specialist, I have served as a classroom teacher, an Assistant Director of a child care center, and a teacher educator in undergraduate classrooms at several institutions of higher education. I bring these experiences with me into my work at the Center and am eager to learn from the perspectives of those I serve. Thus, I seek out and value the voices of children, teachers, parents and individuals in my daily work.
