Behavioral Health Initiative Program Specialist
I serve as the Juvenile Justice Behavioral Health Initiative Program Specialist. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina Central University in 2007. I later went on to obtain a Master’s in Criminal Justice with a focus on Juveniles in 2012, as well as a Master’s in Public Administration in 2016. I have over 10 years of experience working across systems to serve the juvenile population. My experience includes serving as a Youth Counselor at a Youth Development Center in 2008, and then transitioning into the role of a Juvenile Court Counselor from 2009-2013. My early career experiences helped shape my knowledge, advocacy, and passion for removing systemic barriers to appropriate services for youth and families. Most recently, I have had the pleasure of serving as an Operations Manager at the Juvenile Crisis and Assessment Center with Methodist Home for Children and a Court Liaison at Alliance Health. I look forward to growing and learning more innovative ways to improve cross-system collaboration; which will enhance outcomes for the Juvenile population.
