Keyona Barrett

Implementation Specialist

I am an Implementation Specialist for the NC High Fidelity Wraparound Training Program with the center. I received a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Houston. I have volunteered in the field of youth advocacy and counseling in a community and clinical setting. My experience as a youth advocate has allowed me to build knowledge of physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the community. I have worked in the field of social work professionally for seven years. My professional endeavors include dealing with the needs of at-risk youth and families through Child Protective Services, children in foster care, as well as children and families in the school system, and working with adolescents suffering from substance abuse. I also have experience providing family, individual, and group therapy. My commitment to the field of social work is driven by one of my passions, which is empowering others through a life of service. This passion was ignited through the hardships I experienced as a child which led to me growing up in the foster care system.
