Veronica Arias

Part-Time System of Care Specialist

My name is Veronica Arias. Not too long ago, I received my associate’s in business. I am currently in school trying to receive my Bachelor’s in Technology. I was born in Fresno, California, but have been in NC for 15 years and now this is home. I am Mexican American and very proud of both my cultures. I am a mother of 3 boys that strongly advocate having their voices heard. I feel like my biggest joy is helping people learn about mental health. Which includes helping my Hispanic/Latino community to be okay to talk about mental health and get the help or resources my community needs. I have worked as a Family Partner and was V.I.P for Youth M.O.V.E. I have worked translating for doctors that did mental health assessments at the jails. My lived experience with my own family has helped me learn that we all need help when it comes to mental health. I am looking forward to working with everyone and learning new things. I am currently the System of Care Training Specialist for NC Youth & Family Voices Amplified and as part of my role, I will be supporting the Family Training Coordinator and the Youth Training Coordinator. I will also be involved in program training, technical assistance, and family support. I will also implement/support a System of Care training across the state and partner with other team members and community stakeholders to ensure SOC Values and Principles are embedded through all sectors.
